Our dedicated Global Innovation & Technology Centre in Cambridge UK fosters multidisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and design excellence. Our designers work alongside engineers, researchers, and strategists to create everything from breakthrough medical devices to consumer electronics and next-generation packaging. What you can expect 

We work with our clients throughout the complete product lifecycle. Some of the things you’ll do as a graduate industrial designer at PA: 

  • Work in a dynamic and supportive team environment, with full R&D facilities, state-of-the-art studios, workshops, and labs designed for experimentation, creativity, and fast product development. 

  • Take part in creative ideation, consumer research, user experience mapping, and concept development.  Produce outstanding concepts via freehand sketching, craft modelling, digital tools, and rendering. 

  • Guided by a highly experienced team, you’ll have the equipment, encouragement, and expertise to fully develop your concepts from early vision through to working prototypes and designs for manufacture. 

  • Use CMF specification, 3D CAD, generative AI design tools, design strategy, and product animations to bring ideas to life. 

  • Present your work and design narrative to a range of stakeholders. 

  • Collaborate closely with design leadership and multidisciplinary teams on client projects and internal initiatives. 

  • Hybrid working – you'll be in our office at least 2 days a week with flexibility as projects require.

  • In-person interview at our Global Innovation & Technology Centre 

The Offer 

  • Full-time, permanent role based at our Global Innovation & Technology Centre, Cambridge 

  • Salary potential: £31,000 per annum plus additional travel allowance  

  • This role will start in Autumn 2026

Qualifications

  • Qualification: Undergraduate degree - studying towards, or completed an accredited degree in product/industrial design (or closely related subject). 

  • Excellent portfolio demonstrating your visual thinking, process, and design skills. 

  • Growth-oriented and curious - open to change, eager for new challenges, and keen to learn. 

  • Collaborative and relationship-focused — thrive in dynamic teams and support others to succeed. 

  • Strong aesthetic sensibility and sharp eye for form, CMF, and detail. 

  • Skilled in 3D CAD and rendering (ideally SolidWorks or Rhino alongside Keyshot), freehand/digital form definition, and adept with Figma/MIRO, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office. 

  • Excellent organisation and self-starting attitude. 

  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and design for production. 

  • Awareness and enthusiasm for technology and its role in design.

All PA people are required to undergo background checks and to achieve the Baseline Personnel Security Standard however, some UK roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting, where applicants must have at least 5 years of continuous residency in the UK.
