Introduction to role & team
At Bumble, we’re building a world where healthy, equitable relationships — romantic and platonic — can spark and thrive. Our Product Design team shapes thoughtful, intuitive experiences that help people feel empowered, safe, and confident as they connect. As an early-career Product Designer, you’ll bring a strong pulse on emerging user behaviours and cultural trends, helping us design experiences that resonate with the next generation of Bumble members. Grounded in our values of Curiosity and Respect, you’ll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Research — and begin building strong, responsible habits around using AI as part of your creative and problem-solving toolkit.
What you’ll do
- Translate user insights, cultural signals, and behavioural trends into clear design opportunities, demonstrating Curiosity and Joy in your craft.
- Design flows and UI for web and mobile experiences, producing high-quality wireframes, prototypes, and specifications that enable confident delivery.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to take ownership of scoped design work and move projects from insight to impact.
- Support lightweight discovery work (e.g., usability testing, rapid feedback loops, desk research) to validate ideas and refine solutions.
- Prototype interaction patterns and iterate quickly, applying an agile mindset to continuously improve outcomes.
- Use AI tools responsibly to synthesise feedback, explore design directions, and accelerate iteration — while applying human judgment to ensure inclusivity, safety, and fairness.
- Contribute to maintaining consistency within our design system and uphold accessibility best practices so our experiences work well for diverse communities.
- Participate in critiques and team rituals, giving and receiving feedback with Courage and Respect.
About you
- Typically requires 0–1 years of experience, though we welcome candidates with alternative backgrounds that demonstrate equivalent skills.
- Internship experience and/or shipped product work (class projects, portfolio pieces, or side projects) that demonstrates end-to-end thinking.
- A portfolio that showcases interaction design fundamentals, visual craft, and clear decision-making (not just polished screens).
- Strong collaboration skills — you work cross-functionally with purpose, take ownership of your contributions, and incorporate feedback thoughtfully.
- A learning mindset toward AI: you’re curious about how AI tools can support creativity and efficiency, and you understand the importance of responsible use.
- Awareness of inclusive design principles and accessibility basics, grounded in Respect for diverse users.
- Familiarity with modern design tools such as Figma and prototyping workflows. An agile, growth-oriented approach — you iterate quickly, adapt to feedback, and see work through from concept to shipped experience.

Badoo, which was founded in 2006, is one of the pioneers of web and mobile dating products.
AI Fluency
