This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and elevate a mission-driven brand that inspires people to care for rivers and their ecosystems. As Brand Director, you will lead strategic branding initiatives across campaigns, partnerships, and digital platforms to engage a diverse community of volunteers, advocates, donors, and members. You will collaborate closely with marketing, communications, development, and engagement teams to ensure consistent, authentic messaging that resonates with younger anglers, outdoorsy families, and avid outdoor enthusiasts. This position allows you to blend creativity, strategy, and storytelling while managing internal and external resources to build brand awareness, loyalty, and equity. The work is fully remote, giving you flexibility to lead initiatives and guide creative direction from anywhere. Your efforts will directly influence community growth and environmental impact, helping to inspire the next generation of conservation champions.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute brand strategy and campaigns that grow awareness and engagement among target audiences
- Maintain and enforce consistent brand standards across all platforms, departments, and chapters
- Collaborate with Communications, Digital Marketing, Development, Engagement, and Conservation teams to align branding efforts
- Manage relationships with external creative agencies, designers, and partners
- Leverage merchandise, online stores, and partnerships to reinforce brand identity and reach new audiences
- Create practical tools, templates, and resources to empower staff and volunteers to consistently apply branding
- Define and track metrics to monitor brand equity, awareness, and market share versus peers
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, or communications leadership
- Deep understanding of target audiences, including younger anglers, outdoorsy families, and avid outdoors people
- Exceptional storytelling, communication, and writing skills with the ability to inspire action
- Strong creative and design sensibility; experience managing graphic designers and external agencies
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and dispersed teams
- Passion for angling, conservation, and the outdoors; alignment with the organization’s mission
