We are looking for an Exhibition Production Project Manager

As an Exhibition Production Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the workshop team in the design and production of exhibition displays and scenographic elements. You serve as the link between exhibition development and workshop execution, ensuring projects meet budget, schedule, and conservation standards.

What we are looking for:

  • Manage multiple exhibition fabrication projects simultaneously ;
  • Plan, coordinate, and track budgets, resources, and schedules ;
  • Collaborate with designers and scenographers to assess technical feasibility ;
  • Ensure quality, safety, and adherence to conservation standards ;
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the workshop team ;
  • Oversee installation and maintenance of exhibitions ;
  • Identify and resolve design, fabrication, or installation issues.

 

Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience:

  • 7+ years project management, preferably in fabrication or museum environment ;
  • 5+ years managing technical teams or skilled craftsmen ;
  • Proven track record delivering complex projects on time and on budget ;
  • Experience working with designers and creative professionals ;
  • Knowledge of project management and budget tracking software.

 

Knowledge of:

  • Exhibition fabrication and woodworking ;
  • Museum conservation principles and artifact-safe materials ;
  • Accessibility guidelines and museum standards ;
  • Structural engineering principles for exhibitions ;
  • Sustainable design and green building practices.

Education: College Diploma in Cabinetmaking and Furniture, design, architecture, or related field. Degree in Project Management is an asset. 

Certifications:

  • Elevated platform certification ;
  • Forklift certification ;
  • Fall protection certification ;
  • First Aid certification ;
  • WHMIS certification ;
  • Valid driver’s license.

 

Compensation: $ 84 409 to $ 104 460 (E6)

Status: Permanent Full-Time Position (# 10520)

Security Level: Reliability Status

Location: 100, Laurier Street, Gatineau, Quebec
