Software is an integral part in realizing this vision and we are hiring a software manager to play a leadership role shaping our future.

Position Summary:

This position is in the design engineering team and will be working to develop future generations of EVgo’s charging products. You will help prepare design proposals for customer-facing elements of these chargers to present to decision makers such as product and engineering executives. You will then work with manufacturers and cross-functional partners to deliver these designs through the full development process towards launch at EVgo charging sites across the country. This role will be on-site at our new headquarters in El Segundo, which houses the EVgo design studio, materials library, and prototyping of our next generation charging equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Model making (3D printing, painting, generally building looks-like models)
  • Execution of printed and/or painted graphical treatments for EV chargers (generating production artwork drawings to match cross functionally approved graphics, sending to suppliers, working through production challenges, working with validation team to ensure implementation meets requirements, making plan for installation)
  • CMF execution (proposing CMF specs to key stakeholders for approval, communicating CMF specs to suppliers, reviewing samples and first parts to ensure compliance with specs)
  • Materials library updates (sourcing new materials based on latest trends and technologies, organizing samples, sending samples to test labs when needed)
  • Design and execution of decals, regulatory placards, badges, and other components of EV charging equipment as needed.
  • Rendering of EV charging equipment and EV charging sites

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Desired Skills:
  • Strong competency in Keyshot, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Familiarity with Solidworks or similar CAD software
  • Experience using an FDM 3D printer
  • Portfolio with demonstrated strong sketching and rendering skills to communicate design ideas
  • Self starter and collaborator with engineering team
  • Knowledge of color theory and color selection
  • Passion for protecting the climate through sustainable design
  • Experience working in a product development environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and feasibility
  • Portfolio projects demonstrating process of making looks-like models of physical products
  • Familiarity with painting and printing processes for mass production

Internal Title: Mechanical Engineer

For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $94,100.00 USD to $117,600.00 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, discretionary target cash bonus, and restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval).
