This role is ideal for a highly experienced game designer who thrives in shaping innovative, player-first experiences in a collaborative and creative environment. The Principal Game Designer will define and guide the design vision, focusing on creating meaningful connections and long-term engagement for players. You will work closely with product and game leadership to explore new systems, solve complex design challenges, and ensure a cohesive and emotionally compelling gameplay experience. This position offers the opportunity to mentor fellow designers, influence the creative direction of projects, and drive the evolution of core gameplay mechanics. Accountabilities

  • Define, uphold, and communicate the design vision, ensuring systems and features support player engagement and long-term retention.
  • Drive discovery and exploration initiatives to identify opportunities that deepen emotional investment and player connection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, art, and production, to align design direction with strategic goals.
  • Provide structure and guidance through ambiguous or open-ended problem spaces.
  • Mentor and support the growth of other designers, elevating overall team design quality and craft.
  • Translate qualitative and quantitative insights into actionable design improvements and iterative solutions.
  • Share design patterns, learnings, and insights to strengthen decision-making across the project.

Requirements
