About the Role
We are seeking a UX Designer to own the user experience across Vestcom's digital product portfolio, with primary focus on In-Store Digital Media and Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL). This role is responsible for understanding retailer and brand user needs, designing solutions that drive adoption and satisfaction, and partnering closely with product management and engineering to deliver experiences that create measurable business value.
The ideal candidate combines strong research skills with hands-on design execution, maintaining direct relationships with users while translating insights into intuitive interfaces. You will design experiences for multiple user types—retailers managing shelf-edge media programs, brands running advertising campaigns, and store operations teams interacting with in-store technology. This is a high-visibility role at the center of Vestcom's transformation from paper-based solutions to digital retail media.
Conduct ongoing user research with retailers, brands, and store operations teams to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities
Partner with product managers on customer discovery, participating in interviews and translating insights into design implications
Design and run usability tests to validate design hypotheses before committing engineering resources
Build user personas, journey maps, and service blueprints that inform product strategy across the portfolio
Own end-to-end design for In-Store Digital Media and ESL products, from concept through detailed specifications
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that balance user needs with technical constraints and business goals
Establish and maintain design systems and component libraries that enable consistent, scalable product development
Design for multiple contexts: retailer dashboards, brand campaign tools, store operations interfaces, and in-store displays
Partner with product management and engineering as part of integrated product teams, collaborating on solutions rather than receiving handoffs
Work with sales and customer success to understand user feedback and inform design priorities
Communicate design rationale, progress, and learnings to stakeholders across the organization
Contribute to go-to-market by designing demo experiences, sales materials, and onboarding flows
6+ years of UX/product design experience, with portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work
Experience with B2B products, preferably in enterprise software, SaaS, or technology platforms
Strong user research skills with experience conducting discovery interviews, usability testing, and translating insights into design decisions
Proficiency with modern design tools (Figma preferred) and ability to create design systems and component libraries
Experience designing for multiple user types with different needs, contexts, and technical sophistication
Comfort with ambiguity and early-stage product challenges where the right solution requires experimentation
Excellent communication skills, with ability to articulate design rationale to engineering, product, and business stakeholders
Experience with retail technology, advertising technology, or media products
Background in products serving both enterprise customers and SMB/long-tail segments
Experience with hardware/software integrated products, IoT, or in-store technology
Understanding of two-sided marketplace or platform design serving multiple stakeholder types
Familiarity with modern product discovery practices and design thinking methodologies
Experience with data visualization or dashboard design for business users
Understanding of the modern tech stack, cloud, and complex data systems
Experience working in a remote environment
What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you will be measured on outcomes including:
User satisfaction and adoption metrics for designed experiences
Reduction in user friction and support burden through UX improvements
Quality of user insights driving product decisions
Design system adoption and consistency across product portfolio
Speed and quality of design execution supporting product delivery
