UX/UI Design Researcher (AI-First Organization)

This role offers the opportunity to lead research and design initiatives that shape intuitive, trustworthy, and high-impact AI-powered experiences. The UX/UI Design Researcher will partner closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams to translate complex AI-driven workflows into human-centered solutions. You will conduct both qualitative and quantitative research, validate features, and ensure that AI interactions are clear, usable, and reliable. This position requires strategic thinking, hands-on design skills, and the ability to influence product decisions through evidence-based insights. You will play a critical role in defining how users interact with intelligent systems, from discovery to iteration to scale, in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Accountabilities:
- Lead UX and Product research across AI-powered product lifecycles, designing and executing studies that uncover user needs and validate feature concepts
- Translate complex AI workflows into actionable research insights and design solutions, ensuring usability, transparency, and trust in intelligent systems
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Data teams to influence roadmap decisions and create cohesive, scalable user experiences
- Design experiments, A/B tests, and behavioral analysis to improve AI performance and measure UX success
- Establish and maintain research infrastructure, including user panels, feedback loops, and standardized evaluation methods
- Mentor and guide teams on human-centered design and research best practices to elevate cross-functional understanding of user needs
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in UX Research, Design Research, or Human-Computer Interaction, with a focus on AI- or data-driven products
- Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy through research insights and cross-functional collaboration
- Strong qualitative research skills: interviews, contextual inquiry, ethnography, diary studies, usability testing
- Strong quantitative research skills: surveys, behavioral data analysis, metrics definition, experiment design
- Proficiency in AI product evaluation, including human-in-the-loop systems, trust, explainability, and adaptive interfaces
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills to convey insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while balancing strategic and hands-on design responsibilities
