We are looking for a highly skilled short-form video editor who can transform raw footage into engaging, high-performing vertical content optimized for social distribution.

This is not a long-form documentary role.

This is short-form, high-speed, attention-driven content.

Role Overview

You will receive approximately 28 raw video files per month and will be responsible for:

• Editing them into short-form vertical content
• Optimizing for engagement and platform performance
• Delivering clean, modern, scroll-stopping videos

This is an independent role. You will receive files via Google Drive and execute edits autonomously, with weekly feedback sessions.

Portfolio quality is more important than interview performance.

Core Responsibilities

Short-Form Editing (Primary Responsibility)

• Edit 28+ vertical videos per month
• Create optimized versions for:
• Instagram Reels
• TikTok
• YouTube Shorts
• Add captions, pacing, transitions, hooks
• Select appropriate B-roll (accurate and contextually correct)
• Ensure content aligns with platform trends and audience behavior

Content Optimization

• Understand basic social media strategy
• Identify hooks and retention points
• Structure videos for maximum watch time
• Adapt organic content for paid media when required

AI & Workflow Efficiency (Bonus)

• Use AI tools to accelerate editing workflows
• Create static ads or AI-generated variations
• Repurpose organic content into paid ad creatives
• Generate alternate versions efficiently

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

• Graphic design capabilities
• Static ad design
• Thumbnail design
• Social post mockups
• Paid media creative repurposing

Must-Have Qualifications

• Proven experience editing short-form vertical content
• Portfolio showcasing vertical videos (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
• Strong understanding of pacing, hooks, and retention
• Ability to work independently
• Attention to detail (contextually accurate B-roll selection)
• Ability to accept feedback and iterate quickly

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience working with creators (bonus over brand-only experience)
• AI proficiency (prompt engineering, automation tools)
• Experience creating paid media variations
• High cumulative view count across edited content
• Startup experience

• AI-based editing tools
• Tool preference is flexible. Output quality is not.
